LADIPOE has emerged once more as a shining light, ensuring that everyone is able to have their daily boost of serotonin even in the darkest of days. Back with his latest offering in the form of ‘Running’ featuring Fireboy DML, the two have come together to beat off those winter blues and keep up the groove with Poe’s poignant penship and feel-good spirit.
Growing up, Poe had a very different outlook on life than the one that was set out for him. Destined for a life as a doctor having studied a double major and master in North Carolina, it wasn’t until his friend sent him a beat that would ignite his love for music, and the rest, as they say, is history. Designed to uplift, LADIPOE’s latest offering featuring Fireboy DML titled ‘Running’, released ahead of his highly anticipated EP next month is an instantly contagious song that blends Poe’s powerful rap flow and delivery with the anthemic chorus from Fireboy. LADIPOE may have diverted to a different career path in music, but doctor’s always make people feel better, and so does Poe’s music, so to a certain extent, he still carries that element with him.
LADIPOE’s international growth skyrocketed after the success of his recent single ‘Feeling’ that featured the incredible vocalist BUJU, with the track amassing over 80M streams in addition to hitting №1 in Nigeria. The global impact of the track acted as a contributing factor in Poe being nominated for Best International Flow at the BET Awards, narrowly missing out to the iconic Little Simz. Following the success of ‘Feeling’, LADIPOE spent the summer in the UK immersing himself in the culture, whilst even joining Mavin Records label mate Rema on stage at All Points East before returning back to Lagos.
LADIPOE has worked with the likes of Tems, Teni, Falz, Crayon and Simi on his journey to the top, and he is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down. Despite the influx of musical talent that is currently coming out of Africa and Nigeria in particular, LADIPOE is ensuring that through his euphoric beats and heartwarming lyrics, he is placing himself firmly at the forefront of emerging talent.
