Ocean Flaws are one of the most exciting bands to emerge from the UK Indie scene in recent times and it’s so easy to see why. Everything the Essex-based four-piece do is done with serious purpose, always incredibly well thought out, and it always leaves you wanting more. Ocean Flaws have curated the perfect remedy for a band that has all the elements to rise to the top of the UK music scene.
On the back of their debut single, ‘Deep Sea Dreaming’, Ocean Flaws were named one of John Kennedy’s “Hot Ones” to watch out for on Radio X’s prestigious Xposure show, fast forward to their third single, ‘Touching Down’ released during the peak of the pandemic, they showcased a more introspective side to themselves, and in return caught the attention of BBC Radio 6’s Steve Lamacq, and named This Feeling’s “Track Of The Day”.
As any good band or artist should, Ocean Flaws capitalised on this early success and followed it up with their latest smash hit release. ‘Hologram’ does exactly what Ocean Flaws do so well, they go deeper than most and as a result, they provide the listener with lyrics filled with thought-provoking substance and ornamenting anthemic hooks inspired by the Brit Pop era.
On top of this, Ocean Flaws keep pressing on in their pursuit of musical greatness. The band recently performed with Drools — for This Feeling — on 10th September at Water Rats, London. And with more gigs in the pipeline, maybe seeing Ocean Flaws like is the reason… why we’re here at all.
