The Fontanas — Keeping Up With the Funk On Their New Album: ‘The Luxury of Time’.

The Fontanas are a London-based band compiled of English, Brazilian, Jamaican and American musicians, with the diversity of the group and the range of musical influences proving to be a niche that really does set them apart from the rest. The band formed from a jam session in an ex-Victorian public toilet, and you wouldn’t expect anything less from the humble samba-soul group, they’re a group that just seems to get stronger and stronger with every release.

The West-London band boasts a catalogue of tracks that vary from back-foot Brazilian grooves to pure funk anthems that are so infectious it would make even the grumpiest scrooge want to break into a two-step. The Fontanas play high-intensity tunes ranging from funky Brazilian samba-soul to upbeat Latin ska anthems, a key reason as to why their live shows deliver such a feel-good vibe because you don’t know what sort of genre is coming next, being left constantly on your toes, but the only thing you need to know is that each song will deliver just as well as the last one.
